As an attorney with a solo practice, I can give personal attention to each client's needs. And as a former North Carolina prosecutor, I bring experience gained from working both sides of a case. While serving as an Assistant District Attorney in both Onslow and Duplin counties, I prosecuted literally thousands of cases of all different types, and I bring that expertise with me when I go to court for you. You can be confident in a strong and thorough legal defense that has been put to the test in courtrooms throughout the Cape Fear region.
I was born and raised in Washington, D.C. I attended high school there, and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. After college, I attended Wake Forest University School of Law, and was licensed to practice law in North Carolina in 2000. I am married, and make my home in Onslow County.
I am a member of the North Carolina State Bar, Onslow County Bar Association and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. I have served on the board of the Onslow County Teen Court, and have been chosen to its Executive Board and, most recently, served as Treasurer.
I focus my practice completely on criminal defense; I do not practice any other type of law. This means that, whether you have a minor traffic violation, DWI charge, or a more serious criminal case, my office is committed to providing you with the strongest and most knowledgeable defense possible. From the beginning of your initial consultation to the final disposition of your case, you can expect personal attention and quality representation from a firm dedicated to successfully resolving your situation.
